Dickerhoof Properties started in 1970 as Gene Dickerhoof building homes in the San Francisco area and later in Carmel and Pebble Beach for 20 years. Darren and Matt began working in construction in the mid 80's. While working on high end homes in the Carmel area, the importance of detail and quality was established. As the Dickerhoof's moved to Oregon from the late 80's to mid 90's we have kept that attention to quality and detail as the basis of our work. Though we occasionally sell some of our investments, every project is approached as though it will be owned as part of our investment portfolio. Therefore, the quality is always a priority since we want to own an investment that involves less maintenance over time. We will often use better construction products than are sometimes needed and are always interested in a finished look that will be time enduring aesthetically and from a quality standpoint. Since most of the construction we do is handled by our crews, we are able to pay close attention to the overall quality and to the tight time lines often desired by retail tenants.

Our company has evolved with over 50 years of continuous construction experience. In the 70's and 80's we built homes in Carmel and Pebble Beach, one of the highest end markets in the country. In the 90's we acquired hundreds of rental units in Oregon and specialized in repositioning apartment complexes and later office buildings. Since 2000 we have primarily worked on retail properties, with a current inventory of over 40 properties totaling more than 2,600,000 square feet. Dickerhoof Properties intends a continued focus on acquiring existing centers to be repositioned and on doing new build-to-suits for retail tenants. We are licensed contractors in Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington.
